The editorial policy in question sounds like a form of confirmation bias.

It also sounds like Kantian rationalism-empiricism, wherein the noumenal self "discovers" ideas and then looks in the "phenomenal" world for supporting evidence at the expense of all else.

I could go into a deeper analysis based on Stephen Hicks's excellent book Explaining Postmodernism, but really, need I say more?

Thanks, Stephen. I downloaded the study and its two Appendices (D and E) and archived it all under /Sociology on my computer.  It is a lot to digest. I found that it describes well the kinds of comments that I read on the GaltsGulchOnline.com discussion board. There, too, although the nominal attraction is the Atlas Shrugged cinema trilogy, those who speak well of President Trump do seem to echo those typifications.  I note, also, that a few frequent writers oppose President Trump's declarations, and caution (repeatedly) that he is by no standard an "Objectivist" or even politically pallatable to those who self-identify as "Objectivists" (or students of Objectivism).  Some of the vocal supporters of President Trump on GaltsGulchOnline.com would even qualify as "anti-Elites" who favor taxing the rich on the predicate that they did not earn their wealth, but got it via the government.  (It is a very small sample, perhaps a dozen who write several times a day. So, the numbers are "one of these; one of those; shares A and B.")
