Linz,

Thanks for the accurate tribute to a living hero.

And he eats his steaks right too!

To paraphrase Andrew, which is all I can do:

Amen!

He will have a place of honour in Objectivist history. He is living proof that the heroes in Ayn Rands novels not only can exist, but do exist.

Hear hear. The man will do great things, you can see it in his articles. It's exciting for me just to be here for the beginning of everything. Imagine it, how proud you all will be generations from now when SOLO (or the J. Rowlands Institute or what have you) has helped revolutionize society, and how you were there on the ground floor for it all. It's a brighter future; I'm looking forward to it.

This is clearly a man who can change the world, and I want to help; I'm starting with myself.

Yes Indeed, Joe is great.
And bravo to you Linz for showing  people that friendship and respect, especially respects, could exists between a gay and a not  gay person.
Best to both of you.

Thanks for reminding us of what a treasure we have in our midst, Linz. This essay brought back memories for me of when you first encountered Joe (by e-mail) and immediately deduced that he was something special. There was nothing wrong with your ability to judge character that day!! Joe: I salute you.

Linz has said it all in a worthy manner that only Linz can do.  All that I can add is;
Thank you, Linz, and thank you, Joe.

I used to carry around that Free Rad with Joe's face on the cover just because I would periodically find a pack of women following me around...

Ok, so that happens anyway.

The point is, Joe is truly a modern-day hero - That's Hot!

This essay is really along my lines of thinking - giving tribute to the wonderful things that are in our midst. (I have been guilty of that many times - several recently, but also ever since the beginning.)

Bonk.

Joe, let me add my own voice to the chorus. It is really great to have you among us. I liked your essays a lot back when I had no idea that you were one of the owners of Solo. They displayed a level of rational perception spelled out in common language that is rare in Objectivist articles. That impression has not changed one bit. I sincerely think your body of work will become standard Objectivist fare in the future.

Also, embracing Solo has been one of your high achievements, for which I am extremely grateful.

btw - Nobody talks about Jeff anymore, nor have I seen him around. I presume he is still on board...

Michael

That's a boy!
This is what solo should do celebrate its own heroes.

I have tremendous admiration and respect for Joe. This was a wonderful tribute Linz. When I first started browsing the new SOLO, Joes articles in particular enriched my understanding and practice of Objectivist principles.

Bravo Joe!

John

My thumb's up to Joe.  I'll say it again, because it can't said enough, this site is a technical marvel.  Plus anyone whose got the number on vegetarians like he has, deserves a medal.

Not eating meat per-say, but you should read Joe's entire article. Ethical vegetarianism holds animals to an arbitrary standard of value, causing you to sacrifice your own values for the animal's (getting nothing in return). What is evil is sacrifice.

You can't blame a man who loves his meat. :)

No, ethical vegetarianism holds that you should not harm any sentient being.
