The moral pitfalls of Contractarianism
In her book, Viable Values, Tara Smith splits moral camps into 4 camps: Intuitionism, Contractarianism, Rationalism, and Principled Egoism. Intuitionism and Rationalism are easiest for Objectivists to dispense with, but Contractarianism requires extra thought (before we dispense with it as something inherently immoral). Review of a chapter of a communist book
I take to task Norman O. Brown, an apologist for communism. His main argument is that man is base and that that explains two things:
(1) That man needs communism (for liberty, justice, equality).
