I echo Jordan's thoughts.

I really enjoy the New Individualist, and I certainly wish Robert well in his future endeavors.

(I'm also relieved he intends to maintain his blog. He is such a pleasure to read!)

Good luck, Robert!

I'm really surprised there aren't more response to this. Here are some potential discussion questions?

* Will TNI survive without Bidinotto?

* What does this mean for TAS/TOC?

* Was this to be expected given the announcement at the Summer Seminar?

What was the announcement at the Summer Seminar?

I'm still too shocked to know what to think.

Robert's been involved with D. Kelley for as long as I can remember, but, I hope he finds loads of resumes and product copy to fix up! <g>

I can't say I like to gossip about these sorts of things. If Robert or TAS would like to explain the reasons in more detail publicly then they will. For now I'll assume that either party in the relationship thought it was best that they'd rather discontinue the relationship, for many reasons, money being a big one and maybe goals and personality. I still hope for the best for both of them.

What was the announcement at the Summer Seminar?

That TNI would become a quarterly due to budget constraints.

Thanks, Jordan.

That sounds like a two-thirds pay cut for writers (if they were getting paid per article).

Last week I sent off a email to Robert, wishing the best for his future work and what a super editor he is--what a great pleasure it was working with him. His edits were fluid and on the mark, I really had difficulty noticing the changes, other than the work "sounded" better. I will miss working with him.

Michael
