| | In North Florida, we're seeing maybe one McCain ad to three or four Obama ads. This may be tactical, as McCain is stronger in North Florida, but I wonder what he is running elsewhere. Anyone care to provide some local feedback from other areas? (Jay)
Sure. I live in Chicago. ILLINOIS.
As in, Obama's home state AND hometown.
His house is about 4 blocks away from the home of the caregiver for my son (when he was still young enough to need one.)
Obama, I would assume, OWNS this state, as well as this town.
And yet...I can't get away from Obama ads. I have no idea why he feels the need to saturate this market with himself, yet he does. It's weird, actually...let me put this into perspective...
Illinois is such a blue state (in national elections, anyway) that Republican presidential candidates generally don't even bother to waste dollars to campaign here. And Democrats don't either...because they know they've already got it locked. The most negative, scathing, attention-worthy campaign ads---the ones that create a buzz and are discussed ad nauseum on political pundit programs and blogs---are the ones I only get to see on youtube, because they aren't even shown here.
And yet...I can't get away from Obama ads.
Sorry, I have no explanation for it. (But there's your local feedback from Illinois.)
