I had to watch the season premier last night, I just knew they were going to do something "Palin" (I was hoping Palin herself would make an appearance. Oh well..). I was not disappointed. Tina Faye had me rolling off the couch.

I had to look up MILF and FLIRG.

MILF means Mother I'd Like to Fuck.

I had more trouble finding FLIRG (if that's the correct spelling) but the best definition I found and probably the right one considering the context is First Lady Is Really a Guy.

Where's that "Separated at Birth" thread?  Tina Fey and Palin are like identical twins!

Sarah Palin is way better looking. And Tina Fey is annoying and ruined SNL when she was the head writer. Just my two cents :)

If you are going to make comments like that, John, please be "fair and balanced." Is Hillary Clinton "way better looking" than Amy Poehler?  :-)

Bob:

Thanks for saving me the trouble of having to look up FLIRG!

John writes:

You mean SNL was watchable before Fey arrived on the scene? I haven't been able to watch it in many many years. How long ago did she take over those duties? What do you think of 30 Rock?

Merlin writes:

Seriously, that's a tough call Merlin. I find it hard to look at Hillary and objectively separate out her looks from the rest of her personality. I suspect that, on balance, she's not a bad looking woman, but each time I see her I get a little turn in my stomach, so there is certainly no sex appeal there for me.

Agreed. SNL/Fey were SO unabashedly in the box for Hillary during the primary. They even had her on the show. I can no longer watch the POS.

That's a bad pic of Tina. She's very pretty indeed! And comedically brilliant--hear the audience titter at the first syllable evidencing Palin's accent. Tina Fey does wonderful impressions like second nature.

The episodes of 30 Rock that I have seen were amazingly clever.

Sarah's reaction to the skit: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20225789,00.html
Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin evidently had a good laugh at being parodied in the Saturday Night Live opening skit this weekend.

"She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween," her spokesperson Tracey Schmitt said, according to CBS News.

In the skit, Fey appeared with Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton and the two talked about sexism in the media and their own ideas about politics. "I don't agree with the Bush doctrine," Poehler said at one point.

"I don't know what that is," Fey added, laughing.

The governor and her traveling press corps watched the show from the campaign plane as it flew from Reno to Denver Saturday night. The premiere was the most watched SNL since Al Gore hosted in 2002.

This is Fey's third guest appearance since she left the show in 2006.
